Has anyone applied for the Rush University 2020 Spring Masters in Nursing direct entry for non-nurses with a bachelors degree. I wanted to know how far everyone was in their application processs...

Hi there! I got a faulty email today saying I had been invited to an interview and 20 minutes later got a message saying the email was sent to me in error ? I was told that my application is still under review and I should be hearing about a decision for an interview soon, but they couldn’t give me an exact timeline for when. I did see someone post incorrectly in the spring 2019 board that they got invited to an interview yesterday.

My applications was verified and submitted back in June and I completed my supplemental application around then too. Now I’m just waiting to hear if I’m invited to an interview or not. Fingers crossed, but I must admit I’m pretty nervous.

Yes that was me, but they sent the invite out so last minute!

I know! The first interviews are a week from tomorrow! And with the three-day weekend coming up I’m imagining they’ll have to send out the rest of the decisions by tomorrow at the latest. But dang is it making me nervous that they waited so long. I live in Chicago so at least traveling to the interview won’t be an issue but getting the time off for work to do it may be a bit of a hassle. Guess we’ll see if I even have to worry about it soon.

@FutureNur23 what did your email say the cut off was for registration for the GEM First Look? The faulty one I got said the cut off to register was August 26, but that was 3 days ago?

Hi!

My application was finalized and submitted mid July. I was invited for an interview about a week after submitting. I know they review applications on a rolling basis, so I’m sure most people have different timelines. Hopefully you all hear back soon!

I submitted my application in July it was also finalized this July, but I did not receive confirmation of an interview till this week. So now I am confused as to why everything sounds so disorganized.

This was the email I received.

Thank you for your application to Rush University College of Nursing. We would like to cordially invite you to be interviewed on campus by one of our faculty.

Steps to Complete Interview Registration:

Interviews will be held on September 6, September 9, September 10, September 11, September 12, and September 13.

Please note, the interview times available on Friday, September 6, 2019 are reserved for applicants who must travel by air.

For an on-campus interview, please email us at [email protected] with your preferred dates and morning (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM) or afternoon (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM). Please pick two days and indicate morning or afternoon.

Example:
First Choice: Monday, September 9- morning
Second Choice: Thursday, September 12- afternoon

Although we strongly recommend applicants schedule an on-campus interview, we understand that due to our applicants being geographically diverse, everyone may not be able to attend an on-campus interview. For applicants to whom this applies, a virtual interview (WebEX) can be scheduled. Please note – the availability for online interviews are very limited and reserved for applicants that are 150 miles or more from the Rush University campus. If you are unable to be physically present for an interview during the scheduled times, please contact myself, Meghan O’Malley, at [email protected] to schedule a WebEX interview.

GEM First Look:

As part of the interview process, you have been invited to learn more about the Generalist Entry Masters (GEM) program on September 7, 2019 at the GEM First Look. Please RSVP for the GEM First Look by August 26 at https://forms.gle/QvDu3gPPM3fGJrMC8 . Although we strongly recommend applicants attend the GEM First Look, we understand everyone may not be able to attend the GEM First Look.

That’s the exact email that was sent to me “incorrectly” yesterday. Still haven’t heard anything official about my decision yet. I was officially accepted into DePaul, so I’m going to school, I’d just like to know if I’m a flat out “no” for Rush so I can move on with my life and commit to DePaul.

And agreed, this whole application cycle seems to be rather disorganized. I was emailed incorrectly and email was sent late and also stated the 26th as the cut off on the registration for the GEM First Look and you got the email after 26th? Oof.
