Anyone else applying to Rush University's Masters Entry program for Jan 2021? Looking forward to sharing our experiences!
Hey Everyone!
I was just interviewed and it wasn't bad at all! Just be yourself. Things I got asked were the following:
- What do you think a nurse does?
- What are some challenges you think you might face in this program?
- When do you feel you had to stop mid-way of doing something and change your path? How did you cope?
- How will you contribute to diversity?
- What are some lifestyles changes that you need to make if you were accepted into the program.
- She asked about my family- if I had siblings, what they did for a living, the environment I grew up in etc..
- I also got questions about my current job and why I wanted to leave that to do nursing.
I think that was pretty much it for the questions. The entire thing was like a conversation so other topics were brought up based on my responses. I had a great interviewer, she made me feel comfortable and welcome. I am worried that my answers where too simple but I thought being myself was the best option.
Good luck to everyone that is getting interviewed! I hope it all works out to everyone's benefit!
Hey everyone!
I wanted to relieve stress if possible and do my best to help by passing along questions I was asked during the interview process. I wish you all the best of luck, you got this!
What made you go down this path of nursing?
In your opinion, what does a nurse do?
Do you have family in the Chicago area or what changes would you make to move here?
What lifestyle changes would you make besides moving to Chicago to attend this program?
What would you add to this program and to the profession of nursing?
How would you add to the diversity of this program?
What do you think is the most challenging part of the program?
What’s a situation where something didn’t go as plan and how you handled it?
How did you prepare for this interview?
Remember you are awesome, good luck!
