Hello,
I just found out I got accepted for the GEM (BSN/MSN) program at Rush University for the Summer 2011 cohort! Is there anyone else out there who got in?? I'd figure it would be nice to have some people to talk to about apartment hunting and whatnot. I'm super excited!!!!
Jess- you're welcome!! Oh! I forgot about that! Yes - I will need to get a new wardrobe and how to "layer" clothes (yikes!). I don't know what it's like to live without flip-flops...
I just made a FB group for us, the summer 2011 cohort! Just search for "Rush university GEM Nursing 2011" and it should come up. Join up and I'll accept you guys in. I don't think AllNurses will let me post links so just type it in the search bar in FB!
Whole Life- thanks for the advice! I haven't had any luck on Craigslist, plus it gives me the creeps. I will certainly check this place out! Best of luck:)
Thats funny. Most postings are just realtors posting their apartments for landlords. It can give you a nice preview of what's out there, even if you want to directly use a realtor. So far I have found 4 apartments with them in three cities and no problems. You also might want to check out University Village or maybe Pilsen. Pilsen I would suggest only if you are used to more urban environments, but it is cheap and has some interesting things going on there. Good luck.
Hi everyone! I recently just finished my app for the winter 2012 start date for the GEM program. Considering you guys are starting the program next month, what does your schedule look like for the first semester? How many days/hours do you have classes and clinicals a week for your first upcoming semester? Thanks ahead of time for the info!
Hello all! Congrats to those who got in! I just had a couple questions about the program
Right now my cuml. gpa is at a 3.35(so i dont need to take the gres) i have all my pre-reqs done. i took them while finishing up my psychology degree at uic. I hold many leadership positions and am as a Rehab Aide at Rush right now. What else can strengthen my application? Do you think I have any chances? Also would it be better if i applied to the winter/summer/fall cohort? which would increase my chances? thank you

Thanks for the info Ninzy! I guess I can't message because I have yet to post 15 times. But I appreciate the message. Florida is a long way to come! I am from about two hours west of Chicago so I know the area a little bit.
