Rush University GEM Spring 2016

So I've been wait listed or Rush's Gem Spring 2016 program and have recieved and email stating this in it.

"The Admissions Committee did not rank this waitlist; however, in the event that a seat becomes available, we will contact you."

Having looked at previous forums, as recently as Rush's GEM Summer 2015 cohort, on "Allnurses" I've noticed that there have been alot of others wait listed, but some were told that they were given a "ranking" number and some werent? Did any of you fellow students this year receive a "ranking" number, or were offered a seat for Fall 2016?

Thank you for your time for reading and responding, here's to hoping someone doesn't want the seat and I get the offer :(

I got the same e-mail and have the same question. Don't know if the number at the right corner means anything or not.

I got waitlisted too. I don't think the number at the top really means anything. Maybe they used to rank and don't anymore! I did email Molly about when waitlisted people might hear and she said admitted students have to confirm their acceptance by October 15 so that's when they start contacting the waitlisted people but they admit people up until the first day of orientation in December so we could hear anytime between next week and mid-December.

I asked a couple of people about people getting off the waitlist in the past but everyone said it varies. Molly said something along the lines of how in the past, it was as low as 2 and as high as 20.

I was wait listed as well but I did receive a ranking for the list. They also sent out an updated ranking on Oct 16th, which was the day after the acceptance deadline. I moved up by a couple slots on the list so there's still hope!

Did you guys receive follow up update e-mails?

Nope. Never got a ranking the first email, never got a ranking on the 16th. I guess my app is in the throwaway pile :/. I got "Based on what has occurred in previous years there is no guarantee of admission. The Admissions Committee will not be ranking this waitlist; however, in the event that a seat becomes available, we will contact you."

Ah sorry to hear that, I had no idea they had ranked and unranked waitlists. Private schools are notorious for doing so, if I'm not mistake Rush has a ranked waitlist as high as 50 :/

I received another updated e-mail "At this time the waitlist has been updated. Your updated ranking is so & so." The rest half was the same as yours "based on..will contact you."

I was also waitlisted and received a ranking on the 1st, 16th, and an updated ranking yesterday 11/3. In the past, I believe those who received a ranking were guaranteed a spot in the next cohort. Has anyone heard if they are continuing to do so? Rush is really the only program I want to go to so I'm not sure if it is worth it to reapply to the next cohort. Any suggestions?
