Has anyone else been accepted into the GEM program Spring 2015 cohort?
Hi guys! Congrats to all that are starting this Jan. I have an interview for the Summer 2015 term. I am nervous about the interview...I know this sounds silly, but how did the girls dress for the interview? And what types of questions did they ask? Also, I got an invitation to interview but never got an actual date for it yet but the email said we would find out after the application deadline which already ended I believe. Thanks for the help!
Hi All,Have any of you been pulled from the waitlist and accepted for Spring 2015?
futureRnwaiting,I got your PM but it's disabled on my acct. Anyhow, I didn't take the GRE because my cumulative GPA was above the requirement for Rush. In undergrad, I was mostly a B student with some As. Unfortunately with NursingCAS it won't calculate you GPA until you submit the application for them to process it and then send it on to the school...seems kind of backwards, right? Have you tried googling a GPA calculator tool?
Hope this helps and good luck!
I Wanted To Let You Know I Appreciate All Your Help aevalenez... I got an interview now I'm excited and nervous omg
@futureRnwaiting, I don't have the ability to respond to you via private message, but if this offers any insight: I don't have a stellar science GPA (I just barely got around having to submit my GRE), but I'm hoping my other experiences might help me out. I worked as a research assistant at University of Michigan Medical School, contributed to two publications while there, earned a Program in Biomedical Sciences research fellowship, and completed an internship in the Biostatistics and Research Epidemiology Department of Henry Ford Hospital.I've worked as a group study tutor for Organic Biochemistry at a local community college, and I've spent the last two years or so as a CNA. I worked in long-term care/ rehabilitation for a while, and this year, I joined the float pool at a local teaching hospital, where I work in every unit except ED and NICU. I think I have a good grasp on the role and responsibilities of nurses in a wide array of settings.
My friend who is starting the program had a similar GPA and no patient care experience, but she took graduate-level health science coursework, volunteered extensively, and had a lot of leadership experience.
I don't know if any of that info is helpful, but there you go!
Best of luck to you, futureRnwaiting!
Thanks lyns,
