Run far away from malcolm x

sad to say, but my first semester at Malcolm-X is going horrible! UNORGANIZED from the very beginning, syllabus and professors changed several times as well as test dates. we haven't had a lab instructor the whole semester! meaning we haven't had proper instruction before going to clinicals! This school should seriously be someone's last option, if they couldnt get in anywhere then consider Malcolm-X....unfortunately this school is conveniently located between both of my jobs...and i would probably lose a year if i do transfer :/ (i shouldve gone to a masters program with my B.S. in Bio, but lacked $) Last final today, was canceled at the last minute because teachers gave us "study focus points" a study line that every college student gets in COLLEGE credited classes ( that we have been giving every test before this, but because of 1 teacher who felt her position being threatened pulled some strings and got the Dean to cancel the test) no notice was given until we demanded a meeting with the PResident of the school, as of right now, NO REAL CHANGE HAS OCCURRED...we have tried and tried to stress to the administration that one specific faculty member of the Nursing Program is bringing the whole program down, no response, no REAL ANSWER. (if u want the name of the teach to avoid in this program message me) Later during the day as he met us after 30 of us deep interrupted his meeting, introducing us to the new lab teacher! WTH last day of school and we r just getting a lab instructor, HORRIBLE....ive got more examples if anyone is interested, i just wished i had to talked to old students before I got myself into this mess :o

Yes, you should have - especially as all the masters-entry/grad-entry/direct-entry masters programs in the city qualify you for Federally-backed GradPLUS loans.

CareerChanger. just saw your message....I successfully ended my first year at MXC Nursing Program, first semester was horrible, but my second semester def. made up for it. Our program is full of GREAT TEACHERS. In every program there is ONE rotten apple, but I am extremely greatful for the support I have recieved from the faculty second semester. There were a lot of changes second semester, first we got a new Director, a new Clinical Lab Coordinator (SHE's GREAT!), and we have gotten the Presidents attention on the skills we werent taught in fundamentals (which were a lot) and he has made modifications on our program. Me and my classmates have stuck through it, and together we have made it through. The Hesit exam at the end of the second semester was a bit of a roadblock for a great percentage of my class, but they are working hard at it during the break and will come back strong 2nd year. Visit the school, talk to teachers, talk to students! I am always roaming the hallways/nursing office, stop students and ask their opinions, i know for sure they are MORE than willing to give you the "Bizzness"
