Hey all!
Has anyone ever used the email option on your Excelsior account to contact advisement? I have on a few occasions, and each time I have the same individual has emailed me back, and frankly, this person is unbelievably rude and snide. The first sentence in her emails are always a 'slap' on the wrist, ex: your email went to the wrong department, you've asked this question before, etc. :chair:. Then they go on to tell me that what I need to know is in the "information guide". My past two emails were regarding whether or not two "CLEP" exams would be accepted, because in the "information guide" it says you must get approval before taking-- which was my original reason for writing the emails.
Frankly, I am getting a tad annoyed, and I'm hoping that this person is NOT my advisor. -- but I'm almost afraid to call and find out :-x
Anyone else dealt with a similar situation?
Thanks,
Dave

I'd call and get a straight answer. I don't believe I ever actually had an "assigned" advisor -- it seemed like there was a pool of them!

Yikes! That sounds awful. I've never had any problem with email advisement. Everyone who has replied is always very nice! I have had various experiences on the phone. i.e. I had one advisor say one course was approved but then my cell dropped the call before things got processed. I called back and got another advisor who did not think the course was equivalent. It was all really odd..
Hi All!
I think I just got a bad apple in the bunch! Previous times I've called/email they were rather helpful. Thankfully, I am off tomorrow, and I plan to call them and get some straight answers :-)
Thanks you two! I knew I could get some non-biased information from my fellow nurses!

The only time I've ever had any kind of contact with one of them, we had a nice phone conversation where we talked about the fact that she used to live near my home town. She was very pleasant and friendly. I think you got a bad apple on the wrong days of the month.
