RSU BSN vs OU LPN to BSN/RN to BSN

Updated:   Published

Anyone have any recommendations or information about RSU's BSN program vs OU's LPN to BSN/RN to BSN programs?

I am currently enrolled in RSU's BSN program. I LOVE it. It will take time, but I would advise ANYONE to go to RSU over a school like OU. For one, RSU is MUCH cheaper than OU or even Osu. The academic standards are equal. I have several friends who graduated from RSU's nursing program (before it became a Bachelor's program) and all have AMAZING jobs. I have not heard anything negative about the prgram at RSU.

I also think the students at RSU are friendlier than at OU. I just fell that it is better all around. I could be slightly biased because I am a current student at RSU, but I did tons of research before I enrolled for any nursing program and I found that overall, while OU has a good program, RSU is a better deal for your money and your time.

Good luck on your goals and remember...GO Hillcats!!

Does RSU offer a LPN to BSN Bridge though?

I believe they do. They currently have the LPN to RN bridge through for Associates degree, and I know they just recently added the BSN as a degree option. So I am almost certain that they do offer it. Depending on where you are at, I would call the Pryor campus.... or you can call the Claremore campus and talk to the nursing program advisors.

Thanks fort he reply. I have been trying to decide which is the best option. I already have over 50 hours completed (all prereqs) at RSU. I am currently in a LPN program and looking forward to getting this done and continuing on. Thanks again for the info. ;)

WAIT!!! I got to OU! AND I LOVE IT!!! They have so many opportunities for nursing students in all directions. The faculty are great and I think that we are nice. ;) Some of my closest friends right now are my "nursing girls and guys". I know that we have a bridge program. I am a member of the OUSNA board and talked to a few of the girls tonight that are in the bridge program and they love it. They said it is so convenient, allowing them to work and take their classes. If you have any questions, please let me know!
