RPN IEN please help

Published

Dear colleagues,:)

I am an IEN with Ontario RPN licence .

I just start job searching after 4 years and two kids, and I realize that it will not be easy way so please, please if someone with expiriance can tell me what is this thing with Medication Administration Certificate ? Is it mandatory for IEN's since I don't hold Canadian Diploma? My previous postion abroad was ICU and NICU RN for 10 years but I have not work in Canada.

I need a job ASAP ,can someone tell me if I need that certificate how long will it take to get it?

Thank you in advance for every effort:up:

Contact CNO.

Have you worked in the last four years at all?

You will only get the answers you want from the horses mouth.

Thank you so much .No ,I had no practice for past 4 years .Medication Administration Certificate came as a queston after job search where I found that most employers are looking for RPN with certificate.

I will call CNO ,thats good idea.

Thank you again

I can only speak for Alberta but if you haven't worked in four years you wouldn't have a practice permit. We need to work roughly 1300 hours every three years to keep it. Failure to do so results in the need for the re-entry course to be completed.

I think it's the same in Ontario.

I think the CNO requires 1,125 practice hours in 5 years, so Petko should be able to maintain registration as long as the hours are accrued this year.
