Roxbury Community College nursing 2014

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hello everyone Im new to this site. I check this site regularly for information. Unfortunately i have not seen anything current relating to RCC . I was accepted into their nursing program for jan 2014  ( i'm very excited).

Can anyone ( nursing students or recent grads)

shed some light on what i should be expecting? I know they recommend you don't work no more than approx 20hrs a week, but that will be difficult. How do someone gain experience in the health care field as a nursing student if their current job is not related ? I know experience is gained through clinical's however is this the only way? Any and all advice is appreciated from all nurses or graduates from any colleges.

Thank you.

Happy New year

I didn't want to say that I had also applied to RCC's Day Program out of fear of jinxing myself, but I did and I got my acceptance letter today!!

OAN: Nkiru & Drow27, CONGRATS on your acceptance as well! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at the Orientation next Wednesday :D

Did you guys attend Orientation yesterday? If so, what did you think about it?

I applied for daytime adn also but did not receive an acceptance or rejection letter? I'm scared and confused, what does that mean? I call the nursing department and they never pick up? Do you guys have any suggestions?

I guess that means I didn't get in, but why didn't I get a rejection letter? I heard they mail rejection letter with acceptance letter at the same time?

Now I'm sad I thought they haven't been mailed yet

Don't give up yet Gigi. Have you also tried hounding Admissions? They are the ones who send out the decision letters on behalf of the nursing department.

Yes, I called admissions on Thursday and they transferred me to the health sciences department but no one picked up and I didn't leave a voicemail

Admissions say they don't know if letters have been mailed or not so they transfer me to health sciences but no one ever picks up from there

I just wished they sent me a rejection letter so I know that I wasn't accepted but I didn't get any letter

I keep checking my mailbox every day for the past month, I've never been this stressed out

But I guess it's because I didn't get in so I didn't get a letter or else I would of be invited to orientation. Wished they could of at least told me that orientation was May 28 and if I didn't get invited to that that it means that I didn't get in

Lizbee how was orientation? Did they mention that there was going to be another one? How any people were present do you think. I know they accept around 40
