Hey Hannah!

Would you be able to give more information on how the schedule is, and how the testing schedule works?

Is there a test on the last day for all of the blocks?

Orientation (in person)

Block 1 - intro (online) Do you just attend class the last day of the block?

Block 2 - lab (in person)

Block 3 - THIS is where I'm confused... The first part 3.0 is didactic (is this ONLY online?) and then 3.1 is the experiential (fundamentals clinic). For the didactic portion for the blocks like this is it strictly online, or are there lab components sprinkled in?

Block 4 - Pharmacology (online)

Block 5- 5.0 Adult health didactic (in person with some labs sprinkled in or just online??) 5.1 Adult health experiential (clinical in person)

Block 8 - 8.0 Maternal didactic (in person with some labs sprinkled in or just online??) 8.1 Adult health experiential (clinical in person)

Block 14 - senior practicum in person?

Block 15 -  senior seminar in person?

Would so appreciate your help!! ?

Hi,

Most blocks will be online lectures have some sort of zoom link but do require in person days for some. Block schedules are sent out by your professors and will show you exactly what days and time your group will be at school in person. Even though this program is mostly online you will be in person quite often. Fundamentals will give you a good idea of what to expect. Didactic refers to the instruction portion of the block and lab will be sprinkled into this along with days you can schedule open labs to practice any skills you may need extra time learning for skills assessments. Once you have completed the didactic block and assessment(s) for the block you will be in clinical. Clinical schedules come out at the end of didactic usually (sometimes they take forever) and then you will only have to focus on clinical shifts (which is so nice, except for some ATI tests at the end of clinical but those begin around block 5 I believe). You will be in person more than you expect! I was on campus almost 5 days a week even if lectures were online. Personally, I found it helpful to be on campus during online lectures because if I had any questions after lecture or while I was working on assignments I knew I could walk over to the professors office and get clarification (this is just what my friends and I preferred). Senior practicum is a clinical. Senior seminar is online lectures and final assignments. I hope that helps a little!

Hi everyone!

Congrats on being accepted!

I'm from Feb2021 cohort and will be graduating this June. PM if you have any questions in general.

Can anyone share what the clinical requirements are? I'd like to get any labs, vaccines and a physical done before I make my move to Henderson. Admin says they will be sending out the instructions and requirements 30 days prior but I don't think that will be enough time for me to get everything figured out.

We're expected to have all of our vaccines and physical exam completed prior to clinical - which is sometime during Fundamentals didactic. Be prepared to spend hundreds on vaccines if you are not vaccinated for MMR, Tdap, HepA, HepB, Varicella, TB, Covid, and influenza. I got mine done at E7 Health, they offer a student discount. I have spent roughly $1500 after both doses of each vaccine. I recommend getting those started prior to orientation. I started mine after orientation and on time but it was stressful. Make sure to stay compliant on Complio - that means all of your certifications, drug tests, BLS, physical, and vaccines are up to date. Know the deadlines. One student was kicked out of our cohort for not having enough money to get their vaccines on time.

I appreciate your response. Wow that's a lot! This is exactly why I'd like to get this all done in advance while I have good insurance through my employer and not while I'm in the middle of school, have no job and no idea how the school insurance will be like. Thank you for your advice. It was very helpful.
