Rose State College - CPR cert. needed for nursing

Published

Hello! I do not yet know whether I have been accepted to the Spring 2012 program at Rose, but was hoping to take a CPR class this month or early next month as it will be a requirement to start the program (if I am accepted :)). I will wait to see if I am accepted to get everything else together (tb test), we just have a busy schedule, childcare, etc..., I want to make sure it gets done! I am just wondering if anyone knows which CPR certification is needed; is it CPR for Healthcare providers? And I am having trouble finding CPR classes; although I am sure there are many. Is there a list online of CPR providers? Weekends would definately be ideal! I have also seen CPR certification online, but not sure if that would be accepted?

Please let me know! And good luck to everyone who is applying for Spring!

I also applied for the Spring 2012 semester It is the CPR for healthcare providers that you'll need & Rose State offers these classes and they are usually done Fri, Sat, & Sun. If you have any questions about the classes you could call the the advisor (********* 405-733-7545) and she should be able to help you. If you have a student account you can log onto Oasis and search the classes that are offered. Hope we both get accepted! Good Luck!

Make sure your CPR certification is approved by the American Heart Association. I had to redo my certification because it was not. Good luck to you both!! :)

Thank you for the info! I looked into the classes and it seems that each class has multiple days; I was hoping to find something all in one day.. But I will keep looking! I am so anxious to find out if I was accepted! Did you apply for online or traditional?

Thank you for informing me about the CPR certification having to be approved by the American heart association! I did not know that! I am sorry that you had to retake yours!

I'm hoping for the traditional program. I wish it didn't take so long to hear back! I had 132 points, so I'm right around where the usual cut off is & it's driving me crazy not knowing if it was enough! Which one did you apply for & how many points did you have?

Hi there, you will need AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification. I know for sure INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center has a one-day AHA BLS certification class like this on November 30th, you might try calling their HR department (405) 949-4045.

You can take the class even if you are not an employee of Integris.

You can take the required CPR class at the votechs around the metro. I took mine at moore-norman technology ctr on south penn. It was split into 2 nights but they offer ones that are all day long 9-5. Just give them a call.
