Starting this thread for everyone who is applying to RFUs 2026 cohort ! I applied and got my confirmation they received my application and now just waiting.

I am planning on going to the open house. I submitted app 8/8. Haven't heard anything other than confirmation that they received my application.

Did you make sure to fill out all of the essay questions on the application including the optional one. If you don't the application will red flag you and you will get an automatic denial. You also have your CCRN right?

I filled out everything. Took my time and made multiple rough drafts. 
GPA: 3.87, CCRN, MICU & CVICU x2.5 collectively. RN for 6. Preceptor, rapid response & resource on the floor. Clinical adjunct instructor PRN for local college. 60 hours shadowing. Recently retook Biochem, stats and A&P. They gave me a blanket response that I wasn't diversified enough. They also stated already having 700 applicants for 2026 start.

700? Lord have mercy... the application cycle hasn't been open for a month yet! Im so sorry... it is understandable that the school mission is to fill out the diversity gap in the profession. Your stats are great and Im pretty sure you will have no problem getting accepted into many other schools

Whoa! 🤯 I expected from RFU ~ 7% acceptance rate but this is wild.

You're qualified I would apply to other schools and reach out to program directors

I just got an interview for RFU. Kira assessment tho, I'm not sure if that's the same as an in person interview 

 

stats: BSN,RN, PHN, CCRN . Recently graduated nursing school 2023 and started working as a ICU nurse as of Feb 2024. Work in Neuro/ Med-surg ICU . Going on my 2 year mark of experience as a nurse . Was recently in the military tho ( not sure if that's helped). Cummulative . GPA 3.70. Science GPA 3.7. Shadowed only 8 hours . I got my CCRN just recently but working on getting my CMC . I also got an interview at Duke university . .
