Hello,
i qualified as an RN in Romania in 2006 and had several years experience in a GP Practice in y home country. I am now interested in obtaining an US licence and I am not quite sure which steps i need to take in doing so. I have read posts on forums and tried to go online in order to obtain more information. Unfortunately I am still unclear on the subject.
If anyone here could give some advice or direct links to relevant info I would be very grateful.
Maybe it's useful to say that Romania is a member of the European Union just in case there are some rules that apply for EU members states.
Many thanks.

Welcome
You need to read the website of the state board of nursing of the state you wish to live and work in. Be aware some states like California require you to have a US SSN before they will accept your application and you can't get a SSN until in the US on a valid work/immigrant visa. Links to the various state BON can be found at the bottom of the page.
There is no preference to being a member of the EU. The application process is the same if you trained outside of the USA.
