You already got accepted? i am going to apply in september and I thought that was for spring '13. How did you get accepted so early? they told me we couldnt apply intil sept... was it hard to get in?
Yea I thought that I was applying for the fall, apparently It was for the Spring. So I assume that you apply a year ahead? Everything was due In March and you have to take the NLN-Pax exam in April. As long you do fine on the NLN-Pax exam you will be fine, I don't think it was hard.
Gotcha. Hope I get in, I heard it was competitive. Rockland can be a little pricy for housing, but the best places to live are Nyack, New City, Piermont, Suffern, Congers, West Nyack, and Nanuet. Try and stay away from haverstraw and spring valley. they have some bad areas.

Hi! I'm getting ready to apply to the Nusing program at RCC in September. Was wondering if you can provide any insight on the NLN Pax Exam. I'm so nervous and worried because I've already had to do two semesters before even applying and I'll be doing two more before getting into the program IF I get accepted after taking the exam. I have to really do well on the exam because otherwise I'll have to considerd my educational pursuit. I'm an adult student with a full time job and three kids....
Any help would be most greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
The way it works is you apply a year in advance. I am applying in Sept. '13 to HOPEFULLY get into the program Sept. '14. I believe there are also applications open in the Spring so basically the program starts in Spring and Fall semesters of the year.
Those who have taken the Pax exam -- can you please please provide any helpful pointers or any indication on how to do well. I am trying to figure out what percentage of people who take the test actually get into the program. Anyone have that info as well?
Study from the NLN book its really good, I scored really high in the science portion studying from that book. The Math is algebra and geometry high school level math and English was substituting words knowing the meaning and word roots. I didn't get into that portion of the book and didn't score great on those sections. Be ontop of Rockland after you take the exam and make sure they give you an answer on receiving all your paperwork and having everything. I wasn't on top of them applying for Spring 2013 and last minute got a letter that my NLN scores were not submitted when clinicals were already filled up. I ended up going to another school instead so Good Luck in getting in and be persistent with them.
Thanks so much mjaybx! I'm so worried. I'm already creating index cards and prepping to study to take the exam in November. I have to get in. Thanks for the input on the paperwork - I would've probably had the same thing happen. What school did you go to?
