Hello to anyone out there in the process of applying to Rockland BOCES LPN Program for August 2019! My name is Dorothy and I am taking the entrance exam in a couple of weeks and I am feeling pretty confident about it. If anyone else is in the same boat as me or has been through the program, it would be great to get your take on the experience!

I’m currently in the LPn program. I’ll hopefully be graduating in June. The entrance exam is very easy. The math questions are basic fraction, adding , subtracting, multiplication, and division. You should be familiar with doing this by hand. Also know how to convert percentages. The English is reading and comprehension. Also simple. You’ll know if you failed because the computer turns off after you complete the first Section. Good luck , you got this
Hey Pmen80!! Thanks for responding. I've been studying for the exam, and it does seem fairly simple. I just hope I don't panic during the test or something haha. How did the acceptance process go afterward? Ms. Evelyn told me that preparation was important, but the paperwork is not available until you're offered an interview. I'm very excited but I've gotten my hopes up in the past when applying for BSN programs.

please guys, i really need your help. i am currently getting ready to take rockland lpn entrance exam but i dont know what to read in to prepare for the text real good. is there any website to help me prepare for the test and how difficult is the test? i am really in need of your help. thanks in advance
Hey! Trust me, I am in the same exact boat. There aren't many resources for the test, unfortunately. I've been practicing with the same questions over and over. On the Rockland BOCES LPN website, there is a link that says "about the entrance exam", I'll post the link on here, but that's where I found all of my information about the exam. There are sample tests for the reading and math, and then they link the Accuplater website which also gives you a sample test. If you google the Accuplater Next Generation, you can find some more resources but like I said there aren't many. It seems very simple and straightforward. Only focus on Arthimatic and Reading Comprehension. I bought a book that was suggested on Rockland BOCES website, but it isn't very helpful because it doesn't provide a rationale for answers. That's pretty much all I got for ya! My test is Wednesday, and I am trying not to freak out and panic about it lol. Goodluck!! https://www.rocklandboces.org/adult-education-business-services/practical-nursing/pn-entrance-exams/
Also, I believe the math is 17 questions, and the reading is 22, so not too shabby! It does not seem hard, as long as you brush up on your math and reading skills.
Thanks dear. Please, let me know how it went. I wish you all the best on Wednesday.
Thank you so much! Do you have yours scheduled yet?
You are very much welcome. Yes. I’m going to take my entrance exam 5/16/19. I pray we make it. I wish you all the best. Please, let me know how everything went and if the test is hard or not especially English because it’s my second language and the math also. Thanks and God bless.
Absolutely! I will let you know how it goes! I will also say some prayers, God has a plan! ?
Okay and thanks. All the best on Wednesday. Come out in flying colors
Hello Dorothykay, how was the exam? I hope you did well. I can’t wait to hear how it went. I hope to hear good news. Thanks
