What do you mean MA's and LPN's get as much as work as an RN? Are you talking about salary? If so, no. MA's around here make ~$12-13/hr, LPN $15-16/hr, RN $21/hr. Those are starting wages.

MA's are taking over the clinic's ....so yes in that way they get just as much work if not more than the LPN's and RN's *in the clinics* and they probably make as much as a LPN.

the only reason they are "taking over the clinics" is because they are cheaper labor. you are not going to see ma's working the floor in hospitals or acute care settings so clinics and tech positions are pretty much where it ends...the pay is different for all three as is the educational requirements.....to the op if there is any question as to which way one should go ....its nursing

MA's are getting all the clinic jobs because they're cheap and can do a lot. Depending on the setting, MA's in Ohio are starting at $11-$13, LPN's in homecare $15-$18 and LTC $18-$21, and RN's in acute care $22-$24. As a MA they'll work you like a RN and pay you like a STNA. I suggest getting your RN!
Ladies, thank you so much for your responses. I was thinking along the lines of what you said. RN degree it is!

Yeah nothing like getting paid less for more work! Overall I think it depends on the facility and how well they abide by the rules of what duties each professional is allowed to handle.
