RN vs a BSN

Hi! I'm new here! I am currently taking pre-reqs to apply to the accelerated program at Purdue University (I have a BFA in theatre). I have recently discovered that I may not be able to take one of my pre-reqs next semester, therefore I cannot apply to the accelerated program.

Is it crucial that I get a BSN? Are they paid more or hired more often the RNs? Without a BSN, I cannot get an MSN, can I?

Thanks for your help! This process has been long, confusing and frustrating!

Hey Nestie!

What pre-req do you have left? Is it one that you can take online? After that link I posted on ML, I would think that to get your MSN you have to have a BSN first. :flowersfo

RN is a license. BSN / ADN is a degree. Either one is still an RN (provided they pass the NCLEX). There are a gazillion threads on the ADN vs BSN debate - just do a search.
