Hello,
I am currently an LVN in California and have been planning to go back to get my RN. I have been curious about the RN 30 unit option. I understand that you would only be able to use your license in California and it would be on your license online but from what I understand is you can still get your AA or bachelors. So why is it so bad? Also I am curious if anyone has taken this course towards their RN and if they had regretted it or if they are working already with the 30 unit.
Not really sure why you can't do a refresher? You mentioned you graduated with a diploma (assuming RN) but didn't sit for the NCLEX-RN? Why didn't you? Or did you try it but were unsuccessful?
Not sure what options are available near you, but it sounds like you may need to repeat a mobility program (LVN to RN), whether that's 30 units or ADN? Have you contacted local schools and the board for guidance?
I had been out for years and completed my masters program. I was told I had to repeat everything all over again. I haven't applied for the 30 unit option yet.Perhaps they will say I need a refresher course as well. I didn't sit for my boards because of life.becoming a single working parent and money was a big factor. Paying the light bill or using that money for boards was not in the plan at the time. But I will apply this upcoming August and let everyone knows what was said or suggested I need to do next. Boards was contacted they told me they are different than other boards of nursing and to apply they will give me one year for deficiencies to be completed.Wish me luck!!🍀
Thanks not fast tracking anything. Everything I earned was the legit way. Taking my chances and apply for the option. Will keep you posted. I have two masters on half of a doctoral degree and bachelors degree and a diploma degree in nursing. I second doubt myself. Going fo for it. I don't use any dot com. I earned my nursing and no fast tracking anything. I earned it. I have been a nurse for a long time and not going to defend my degrees. Going for it guys.
