RN supervisory visit Frequency?

Does anyone know the reg on how often an RN has to supervise an LVN and HHA in Texas according to Medicare Hospice Benifit guidelines?

This regulation of a 14 day visit with Aide not necessarily present and a subsequent 60 day visit with Aide present: Is this an Hospice regulation or Home Health regulation? I have recently joined an Hospice organization and am not clear on Aide supervision. Their audit revealed significant deficiencies in Aide supervisions. Where can I find this regulation, definitively?

Weekend supervisions, is there anyway they can be avoided - and stay in compliance. I am new to Hospice and would like to know.

I have just joined allnurses.com and am not able to intiate a post as yet, so I replied to your posting as it was related to my concern.

Sorry, I just saw this.... 2 months later. CHHA supervisory visits are required to be done by the RN every 14 days (or more frequently if needed or to avoid weekends) It is easiest to do them on the same day the Comprehensive Assessment is done, which is required every 14 days also. The CHHA does not have to be present each visit, but it is a good time for you to evaluate and educate your CHHA's. Again, sorry this is so late, you probably already have the answer. I hope you have shaped up your company! COP Sec. 484.36 of this chapter. (a) Standard: Supervision. A registered nurse must visit the home

site at least every two weeks when aide services are being provided, and the visit must include an assessment of the aide services.

The RN must make one visit for assessment at least Q14D. The HHA must also be assessed Q14D. The care plan must be reviewed Q14D.
