I am currently finishing my last semester of pre reqs before I apply to my schools RN program, which is 2 years long. I want to join the navy through NCP but I am really worried about getting my BSN. Is it too soon to talk to a recruiter? I'm 23 yrs old right now, will I be too old to join? Also I currently have 79 credits and i don't know if I need my BSN or just 120 credits?!

You need a BSN for military nurse corps officer, any branch. And you need to talk to a health care recruiter, not the recruiter for enlisted personnel.

You need a BSN. Maybe a year from graduation contact a recruiter. The thing to focus on now is 1. GRADES. They matter BIG TIME for getting a commission. Focus on that and stay out of trouble for the time being is all you need to worry about. Study study study and study more.
Thanks everyone!

The sooner you apply for the NCP the better! It is an EXTREMELY long application process and the board sits down to decide who it accepts in October/November usually. I started my BSN program June 1st, talked with a Recruiter that same day, began the application by late June and had it 95% done by early August. There were additional things that held mine up (needed a medical waiver for a Mitral Valve Prolapse) and some odds and ends, but it was effectively submitted by early September when the due date I want to say was mid/late September.
Also do not wait till you are a year into the program to start this process! The sooner you start it and are accepted the sooner you start receiving your $1,000/month stipend that is NOT TAXED.
