In Alberta, all nurses are paid the same base rate, with a premium attached for our highest degree. The maximum is $1.75 an hour for a doctorate, but I don't know too many nurses with PhDs who work in a union job... I make the same as any other nurse on Rung 7 of our nine rung pay ladder, CDN$30.41 an hour. I have six calendar years of PICU experience and two of intermediate care experience.
