I took the RN refresher course through Austin Community College - it is all online. I live in Amarillo (which is like living in another state as far as distance to the rest of TX cities). It was one semsester and they offered 2 lab days. I did not do the lab days because they were in Austin - they are suggested, not required. There is also a preceptor period. I did not have to do the preceptorship because although I had not worked in 5 years, I had kept my licesence current and updated. I don't know if this is any information you wanted, but maybe if there are others needing a refresher course..........

I need to go through Refresher Course too, but I live in Houston. Does anyone here in Houston taking same Course?

snowgoer, doest Texas BON accept "all online" refresher?

Yes, the BON does accept the Austin Community College online refresher course. I can't say about any others - maybe look on their site? I enjoyed the course and was glad for the refresher. I am happily working as a hospice nurse now! Best of luck to you and re-entering the field!
