After you get a year or two floor experience I would go straight into a RN-MSN program. Most nursing schools want their instructors to have a MSN. I am at a CC and only one instructor has a BSN and she will be graduating with her MSN in December.
Good luck! There are a lot of great RN-MSN programs out there!

I have been leaning toward this, thank for your thoughts!

I can teach with my BSN while working on my MSN. So for that reason I am glad I got my BSN. I wish you the best of luck in your future!
That is the only reason I am still considering a BSN, but I am concerned about teaching school and taking increasingly harder classes at the same time. Thank you for the opinion and something to consider!

Hello all,
I am an ADN student graduating in Decemeber and would like to know if anyone has any comments or opinions about continuing education to Nurse Educator? I really would like to teach after a couple of years of experience in the hospital setting. Does anyone have an opinion on the advantages/disadvantages of getting a BSN first and then going on to MSN vs. taking a ADN to MSN program?
Thanks in advance for your comments!
