RN and NMC

In the UK nurse training is paid for by the government (well at present it is) and currently for most nurses that train now and in the last decade do not meet US requirements to be a RN. In the US nurse training is expensive and more so as a International student. The issue is finding employer willing to go the immigrant/work route.

Okay thanks , so then it's slightly impossible for me to be a CRNA? Unless I study to be an RN in the US

I would say difficult opposed to slightly impossible. If your heart really wants to go the CRNA route then you need to look and reaseach all options from training to job opportunities and plan your route

It will be a very long term commitment. If you can afford to go the US and study there that would be the easiest and best option. If you study here first, you work as a RN under the NMC while trying to get a visa and fill their requirements for becoming a RN - which I think are working in all area's of nursing as their nurses are general nurses and we're branch nurses. Then you need to work as a surgery or anaesthetic nurse while getting further qualifications in this subject area and then working towards being a CRNA. I don't think it's particularly easy to be a CRNA for an American nurse, and it's a lot harder for an international nurse, but if its what you want to do then go for it.
