rn to msn, rn to bsn

Published

With WGU what would be the better choice, going through the Rn to Msn program or taking it a step at a time rn to bsn, then bsn to Msn? I know Wgu doesnt award the BSN once that level of class is completed so I would hate to miss that milestone...Anyone know roughly how long the RN to MSN program takes to complete? Any feed back would be helpful. Thanks!

They DO award the BSN on the way to MSN if you petition for it. You have to finish the bridge courses before you can petition for it and if you do petition for it you cannot start your MSN courses until the beginning of your next term.

If you want the BSN I would encourage you to go that route and then move over to MSN after. I decided I wanted to stop at BSN and WGU will not allow me to switch to the RN to BSN program now that I am officially in the RN to MSN course. I can stop school after the BSN but I have to finish the bridge courses, which equals two more courses than I would have to do in just the RN to BSN.

When I called they told me they didnt but I think ill do the rn bsn route first. Then start the msn asap!
