I would like some advice on relocating to Fort Lauderdale. My goal is to move next year by Christmas. Currently I work on Pediatrics/PICU and float to NICU step down and Nursery. I also have experience with geriatrics and working with children with behavior problems. Currently I am doing my Masters in Nursing with a focus on Public Health. Is Broward Medical a good environment to work? Yes I would like a decent pay, but I want a healthy work environment and good benefits. What other Hospitals are good in the Fort Lauderdale area? How difficult is it to work for Florida State? Also what are decent places to live??

I know many nurses relocating from Broward because of the low pay and high cost of living in southeast Florida. I do miss it but the cost of living vs pay made me leave Ft.Lauderdale. Definitely do your research and good luck ?? Most RNs told me the hospitals don’t pay and it’s best to work agency there

Sorry for the late response. Thank you. My goal is do travel nursing within Florida. The pay is so much higher. Big difference in pay. If I find something reasonable then I would settle. NY pays high but everything is expensive here. I drive and tolls, gas and parking alone are killers.  Thanks for the insight
