I graduated from a BSN program in July 2015 and started working at a Cardiac ICU in September 2015. My spouse is looking for jobs in the Lakewood area.

- What are the chances of somebody with 6-12 mos ICU experience finding an ICU job in the Lakewood/Denver area?

- How long do people typically work nights before being able to move to days?

- What is the average starting pay for 6-12 mos experience?

- It looks like there's a St. Anthony CICU in Lakewood. Does this hospital/unit have a good reputation?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Most non-new grad jobs have "minimum 1 year experience preferred" - I think if you can relocate at the 12 month point, your employability will increase quite a bit. I'm guessing that for a nurse with 1 year experience, pay is probably going to be in the $25-27 range. As far as going from nights to days, that is highly variable and depends on the individual unit.

Besides St. Anthony, other hospitals in the general area to consider would be Rose, Presbyterian-St. Luke's, Denver Health, St. Joe's.

at St. A you will probably start around $25-26/hr. and likely roughly that for the other hospitals, except healthone

St A's likes about a year of experience for any speciality unit. The CICU is pretty young and has had some turnover lately ( as has most of the hospital ) but it is a pretty good place.
