RN jobs in Michigan

Hi, I will be completed with my ABSN in December 2011. I was wondering if any recent grads can comment on the job outlook for metropolitan Detroit?? Are you having difficulty finding a job and if not, how long did it take to get one?? I have heard rumors that many hospitals are not hiring new grads and it can take months to find work. I know I am a ways away but just wondering if things are improving. I know the old saying, you will always have a job as a nurse may not be true anymore based on the economy, etc. Thanks for your comments!!! Also, any advice on networking while in nursing school - I don't know if I will be able to work due to the program intensity.
