RN from India/Canada, Interested in USA

Hello all, I am a RN (Bsc Nursing) from Punjab India (2000-2004) and got 10 year experience in Health Field (RN & Heath-care Worker..etc).. Also, I have done Master's in Health Science from UK.Currently I am Canadian Citizen and working as License Practical Nurse (LPN) in Canada and wanted to move to USA with my family, I would like to work as RN in California USA. Please help me with step by step procedure to become RN in California.. I may need Work permit to work in USA...

Until in the US with a US SSN can you apply to California so will have to look for another state to register with.

Nurses are not in great demand especially in California and especially if looking for work visa

I am also considering North/South Carolina. Do you think that would be easy to migrate there? OR any other state Which welcome LPN from Canada or International nurse..!!

LPN will not get you into the US, you have to apply as RN

Okay, I will try as RN but I am not sure if North/South Carolina provides work permit to International Nurse.

Or is this compulsory to have social security number for Nclex exam.

Doesn't go by state on work permits but by employer and for a lot of states you do not need a US SSN but the state may not issue a license without it
