RN generic full Time fall 2014- Miami dade college

I'm applying for the Generic Full Time RN program for fall 2014 (August). I took my NLN Pax exam already and got an overall score of 143. Curious if this will be goof enough to get in? Can't find any stats since the previous test was the TEAS... Looking forward to hearing back from anyone else that has taken the test already. Thx.

I believe mdc is just trying to get as much $$$$ as possible which is why they are allowing so many people to apply which is really crazy...

Hi, my name is Stan. This is my first post despite the fact that I have been paying attention to you girls for a while. I just wanted to tell you girls to be strong and believe in yourselves because we will make it through this despite of mdc's betrayal. I, myself, am a male who applied to mdc's nursing program in February while I was taking the mandated hsc0003. I scored a 132 on the test and I have a 3.91 cum gpa, and a 3.95 science gpa. Despite of my scores, hearing what mdc has done has given me stress that is unbearable. To make matters worse, I also applied to fiu with a teas score of 80, with the same gpa, but I still think my chances are slim. I hope when these due date come about, all my efforts was not for nothing. I truly hope everyone gets in, because I wouldn't wish this stress on my enemies. Take care

So they extended the dead line because a lot of people fail and they keep Letting people that fail to apply I don't get it

I agree. Thanks for the warm welcome. But one thing I don't understand is how and when did all these applicant take hsc0003. It's mandatory for any newbie who is applying at mdc for a health and science career. I was there in the spring and there was about 20 people there, and 4 were applying for nursing. Where did 200 applicants come from? When did they take that course? They can't do it in the summer because grades won't post before decision are made. Either mdc is money hungry or someone is lying or they did not apply for this fall.

I took hsc 0003 last years so maybe a lot of people did the same..I dont think they got 200 applications alot of people didn't even knew that the dead line was extended so is hard to believe sooo i don't know what to think

Your also right about that too. I know gossip spreads like wild fire...lol... But for 200 people to find out about a deadline extension in 15 days and to find available seats and dates is too much. We have officially cracked this myth. Let not talk about it again...lol

Hi Stan, welcome ! I had not taken hsc0003 but I had taken a similar course at BC with an additional CPR class they told me i would be exempt. Not sure if this helps.

It doesn't matter at this point. Were essentially debating whether 1k or 1.2k people applied to the program. Both are still a lot in the grand scheme. Does anyone know how they calculate your total score? Someone said the advisor would be able to tell u ur total score, so I'm wondering if anyone spoke to one so we could know how to calculate it.

I've been following this thread for quite sometime now and finally got the courage to post. I applied for all 3 tracks and scored a 130 on my NLN. It's been stressful these past few weeks especially with all the changes Mdc is making. I spoke to an advisor last week and she stated that the people who met both requirements would be considered first which makes since but it seems like everyone's getting a different answer depending on who you speak to. Another thing is if anyone does have any questions regarding that matter it's best to go to the school and speak to an advisor because the people who answer the phones aren't advisors and sometimes they don't have the proper info which causes a lot of confusion, anyways I wish everyone the best of luck, have faith if it's meant to be it's meant to be.

Thank you, and welcome to the family. I hope more people come out of the dark and share there experiences. I learned dealing with this stressful situation by yourself is not healthy. It's best to share your concerns with people who are dealing with the same issues as you. What is your science and cum gpa? If you don't mind me asking
