I'm applying for the Generic Full Time RN program for fall 2014 (August). I took my NLN Pax exam already and got an overall score of 143. Curious if this will be goof enough to get in? Can't find any stats since the previous test was the TEAS... Looking forward to hearing back from anyone else that has taken the test already. Thx.
This is just the beginning of it. MDC is unorganized, but any ways they don't release any funds until you have passed the 100% non refund. Also, i would rather pay with a CC and get miles (lol) before i pay any fees for a short term, which by the way it only covers half and half out of pocket. The way fin aid works with the Nursing program it goes by the hours you would do and credits, so they take long calculating all that and aren't submitted right away; therefore, i missed out on Summers MDC grant (LPN program), because hrs weren't submitted on time by the Nursing department . Im hoping that for the loans is different.
I applied for help through fasfa, I hope that's not the case for me since I did my fasfa back in March to try and avoid all this...uggghhhh
Trust me that is going to be the case for you. That's exactly what she told me and I did Fafsa way back in January. I have to pay and then they will pay me back once fin aid is dispersed. Never heard of this in my life, but they said that the policy has changed because a lot of students at MDC register for classes, take out loans, and then drop all of the classes once they get their money. Now we have to suffer because of people like that.

Yes, this is exactly what the lady told me. If I take out a short term loan it doesn't pay 100% only 50% and I have to pay the other 50%. MDC fin aid is weird and inconvenient.

At the end of the FASFA in the bottom it tells you how much you qualify for I qualified for it... So I called MDC and they told me in orientation when we register to make sure to come by the financial aid office and ask for the form to fill out. I find it silly that it takes so long and we need to pay out of pocket and then they'll refund us back. Doesn't make sense because we need to pay that money back anyways when we graduate ?
