RN to BSN from USM online

Published

Curious if anyone here is doing the RN to BSN from USM online. I could attend USM on campus but online programs might be easier to manage with kids and f/t job. :specs:

There are so many online school options these days...It takes a lot of research time to sort through the good and bad opinions.

Specializes in med/surg, ortho, rehab, ltc.

Hi Crazy4Kids!

I hope you get some feedback because I'm thinking about doing and RN_-BSN program too. So far I think Thomas Edison State University online beats USM's RN-BSN online. TESU would require a few less classes and their BSN transitions into their MSN degree.

Do you live near the Hattiesburg main campus?

I live close to the school but I work at a hospital in Louisiana. With the commute and long work hrs, I haven't had time to schedule an appointment with an advisor at USM. This week I hope to meet with someone to have my transcripts evaluated. :specs: So far TESU and IWU would be faster BSN routes for me.

Best of luck!:wink2:

I know someone who is pursuing a second BS degree with Thomas Edison but it isn't nursing related. He has a BS or BA in English or maybe Psychology from USM and an ADN. He's in staff development at a large facility near town. Decent job but the pay isn't good.

Anyway if I run into him I'll ask if he likes TESU.

Specializes in acute care and geriatric.
