RN-BSN programs. Your experiences?

I have applied for the RN-BSN programs at SFSU and CSUEB. I am looking forward to learning more and expanding my scope of practice.

I have a vague sense of what I am missing: public health and research, more theory essentially...but can anyone elaborate on what you gained from your RN-BSN program?

Have you gone through either of these programs? What did you like or dislike?

Thanks!

I hear that SFSU's nursing program is one of the best of the best in the Bay Area. If you get in, I'll be cheering for you! You can also finish your RN-BSN in one year if you study full time. You'll basically be a BSN just like other BSN grads. All on the same level of scope of practice.

I'm not an RN-BSN grad but I did apply to SFSU's BSN program as a traditional non-RN, and I have a very good feeling that I'll be starting next semester. I think you also get a better scope and understanding of pathophysiology and why things are the way they are in the nursing field.

I wish you the best out there!

Thank you for the well wishes, it actually feels good to have a stranger out there rooting for me. :redpinkhe

Likewise good luck yourself! keep up the optimism!

Maybe a year from now I will be able to answer my own question on this thread. Until then If anyone else has any information or experiences to share I would appreciate that too very much.

Woah! I got in to SF State! That is my first choice so I am very happy!

I guess a little more than a year from now I will answer this question for all of you who are looking for the same answers as me.
