Some online programs are excellent ... others are horrible. You need to investigate the school and its quality before making a decision whether to choose that school or not.
Most of the time, if you choose a state university -- or at least a state-supported school -- that has a good reputation as an institution of higher learning, you'll do fine. Private schools that are not-for-profit schools and have been around for many years can also be good. Most of the worst programs are the for-profit schools run by corporations whose fundamental mission is to make money for its stockholders.
Investigate a school thoroughly before you invest.
Several of my colleagues have done WGU's RN-BSN program, and my nurse manager got her MSN through WGU. My own RN-BSN program was hybrid - some online and some in the classroom, but it was a local brick-and-mortar school.
You want to avoid the for-profit, investor-owned schools like the Plague.

Hi, I'm currently in nursing school and I want to get a head start on looking for a BSN program. I was wondering, is an online program accredited/real? Are they scams or looked bad by employers? I would like to try and do as much as possible online. If there are real online programs, where? Thanks for the help!
