I am looking at going back for my BSN and am thinking about Excelsior. Can you please tell me your Pros vs. Cons? Also how is the pricing for the classes as I am a mother of 6 on a single income and that has become my biggest challenge in finding a program.

EC's BSN program accepts title V funding and you can apply for loans/grants/scholarships as well...EC gives out $500 scholarships 3-4 times a year too =)

I just started the program and I received plenty of financial aid. Whatever else they don't give you a grant for, you may be eligible for a govt subsidized loan (very low interest rate that does not accrue while you are taking atleast half time[6] credits per semester). And they do have a low-cost financing program. I think our of the many online RN-BSN schools out there, it might be the on the low- to mid-priced range (credits are $355 each, other schools I see charge as much as $500 per credit). Also, if you got your ASN from a school that has a partnership with Excelsior, they give you a pretty decent discount on your tuition and fees. Here is the list of schools: Community Colleges - excelsior.edu
They have plenty of good info on their site. Things are pretty clear and straightforward.
It does take a while to apply and have the financial aid come through. It was about a 2 month process for me, and my friend is still waiting (she started applying when I did but I guess since her degree isn't from a partnership college, it takes longer to evaluate credits).
Good luck! :)
