Try COPE health Scholars it’s literally the best hands on experience and will definitely prepare you. If you do choose this route, I also highly recommend being apart of their leadership program.

Hey guys, I got accepted into Cal State San Bernardino’s RN program. However I’m an alternative for RCC’s cep program. If I end up getting accepted into the cep program which school do you think I should go to? what do you guys think? Just wanna hear some outside perspective Thanks!

How long is the cal state RN program ?

If it’s 4 years then I would do RCCs CEP program ! It’s shorter by a year, it’s cheaper, you can also sit for the NCLEX once you’ve completed the ADN portion and you can start looking for jobs while you’re finishing up your BSN in your last year ! Good luck!

The COPE program ? I have never heard of it? Is it a volunteering program? I’m interested in this.

Hi @EricaK71413. Yes COPE is a hands on clinical program that allows you gain hours required for health care programs. However, it has other benefits. The program is designed for Pre-Med, Pre-Nursing, and HCA students. You will receive a certificate from UCLA School of Public Health upon completing the required 200 hours.

While in the program you will provide basic care to patients while working with nurses, Physicians, and other members of the healthcare team. Every term you will rotate to a different unit of the hospital. This is awesome because it gives you an insight of nursing specialties.

I wanted to also gain knowledge about the business side of healthcare so I completed the clinical and administration track. I was also apart of the leadership team.

As a proud graduate of the program, I encourage you to visit their website and reach out to one of the recruiters.

The program is competitive, you will have to write a short essay and interview with the leadership team. If you are selected you’ll move on to the next step of the process!

good luck! If you go this route, and have any questions feel free to reach out.

@Soledad Padilla

I saw you’re applying for Spring 2020, is the application open for you?? The application opens first business day of July but IDK if today counts because it’s Wednesday.. if it does I can’t find the application Can you?

Nope the application isn’t open for me either! I tried it on my iPad just to check and on my computer and it hasn’t opened. I woke up early just to do the application and it’s not open yet. And I been checking every hour or so. I feel like today should be a business day because students are in for Summer classes. And I did go to a workshop a week ago and Steven did mention it will be up on July 1st. So I don’t know what is going on their end. Either they forgot to post it or they might do it by the end of the day. We will have to keep checking or email them if it not up by tomorrow I guess. Thank you for asking me! I was getting worried that I couldn’t find it either!
