Hi, congratulations.. did Steve already send out emails stating in you got in for fall 2020 for CEP? I have not heard back anything yet, I was told June. I’m guessing they are letting those who got in know already? ?

How many points did you have?

Hey guys, I just came across this forum. I have a couple questions regarding the application and requirements for cep... why would the cep program cap off be lower than the ADN program? Also, for those of you who applied to cep program, did you take chem 4 or Chemistry? Is it a requirement? What is the application like? The rcc staff is hard to get a hold of to ask and there are no seminars to attend due to social distancing I’m guessing.

The CEP cut off score is different every semester. As long you complete all of the classes required, maintain a solid overall GPA, and TEAS score you should be fine. Chemistry is usually a standard requirement for all science majors. The application process is the same as the generic ADN CEP just requires completion of more GE course you can view the requirements on the schools website..... hope this helps ?

Thanks for the help! Yeah I read all the requirements, but got a little confused when it comes to the cep program because the BSN program states that you need chem 4 but the ADN program is not as straightforward about the Chemistry part. And I read that to be accepted it’s based off the ADN program. I have a BA so I meet the ge requirements I was specifically wondering for chem because I am in the class right now but it switched to online so it’s a complete mess and was thinking about waiting to take it but wanted to apply for the program in July.

No don’t drop... I c’d chem and recently got accepted to CEP this fall

@jackieh92 I believe Chemistry is the same for both programs, I don't see why it would be different. I took it within the RCC district and it was called Chemistry 2A (Intro Chemistry 1), so as long as your Chemistry is equivalent you should be fine with the Chemistry you're taking. Now, in the application they do have two other chemistries that they accept, but within RCC Chem 2A is a requirement for all the other science prerequisites. CEP is a newer program so that's most likely why the cap off is lower. Also, the RCC SON website opens up an application every application period and you just download the file, fill it out, and then email them your filled out file. The application has an extra page at the end that is strictly for those who wish to be CEP applicants.

I just started in Feb for CEP. Fall is in Cohort with CSUF and Spring is in Cohort with CSUSB. The cut off changes depeding on the applicant pool. When I was accepted to the program, I think the cut of was around 73 points but I am not sure. I was accepted as an alternate. There is a sheet of requirements for the ADN Program on their website. To apply for the CEP program, you would just need to make sure that you were "Transfer" ready. Meaning you have Poli Sci 1, language arts, etc. You would need to make sure you are ready to be accepted to a CSU program

I’m not sure... It’s competitive to get in... How are your other sciences ? Did you take your TEAS yet?

I have As in bio 50A and 50B ... I haven’t taken the TEAS yet, but I have 43 pts before the TEAS... if I get 80% On the TEAS I think I might have about 72 points

I think you’re OK... Can you retake it in the Summer... I’m only saying that because they emphasize on the sciences
