Rio Hondo Spring 2017

Published

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone applied to Rio Hondo College! Their application period is still open until October 17th 2016 so I know it is early to receive a response but why know get to know each other and inform each other about any updates! What other schools did you apply to and have you taken your TEAS exam? This whole waiting process has me all antsy!:nailbiting:

I'm Praying I get accepted this year!

Hi MA-Bianca, did you get the letter from Rio-hodo? I took teas test on September 23rd before I submitted my application to Rio Hondo. (Teas test is a new requirement that student has to submmit with the application) I am still waiting for their letter. í ½í¹„

Hi Ryoko, I haven't received anything yet, I called the nursing department to check status and was told that letters will be mailed out the second week of November! ----so hopefully in the next week and a half! do you mind me asking what other schools have you applied to and what are your stats? I didn't score too well in the TEAs and I'm afraid it will hold me back from getting accepted.

Hi MA-Bianca,

I have only applied nursing program at Rio Hondo. If I want to apply other school, I have to take at least 2 more classes, Math 130 and Life span development. I got only 72.6 in teas test but they said my test score was good. Maybe it was new version, so many students, who took the test at Rio Hondo, did not pass. My GPA was 3.64 and got all B in Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology. (Rio Hondo doesn't count Chemestry in Science point) I submitted copies of Bachelor degree in Applied Physic, a couple letter for difficult life and need to work, and my certificate of bachelor degree for other language. (I gratduated form Thailand) As I know it is not only grate that helps you get in the program at Rio Hondo. You must add other things for your points. Last summer, a student that had 3.0 of GPA got in the program because she added proves for low income, first generation in college and other things to her points.

As I know from my counselor, she told me that I should get at least 3.5 of GPA and at least 3.0 of three Science classes in order to get in the program. If I got GPA and Science Grates less than she told, I may or may not get in the program.

Good luck

i got accepted!!!!

has anyone heard anything about this program, like is it a good one?!

Ryoko, DONT GIVE UP! Try to apply to as many colleges as you can! I got 2 denials from other colleges before I got accepted! Sambamxx! I got accepted too!!! :)

i got accepted!!!!

Hi sambamxx, CNA, congratulation. If you don't mind, Can I ask you some questions? Is you gotten in LVN or ADN program? And when did you get the letter? As I know if your points are on very top, you will get in first and lower point students will get their letter later if they are selective or on waiting list.

The ADN program at Rio Hondo is good. I heard some people talking about their program. Their professors and staffs are very helpful. If you have any question or problem, you just ask they will help you.

MA-Bianca will you be going to the advisement session on the 18th?! im so excited! although i am still waiting to hear back from other colleges, im definitely saying yes for now. this is my second time around applying to colleges, its been a long time coming

Girl, :woot: Yas!

I will definitely be attending the advisement session! I'm soo excited too, I can't believe it. I keep reading and rereading the letter to make sure it's real. lol Pasadena put me as an alternate and LA county invited me to take the TEAS. I'm some what curious if I got accepted there but wont find out until Dec. Rio Hondo College is my first choice so I am very happy!

wow! i haven't even heard back from pcc, was it email or letter? although i have a friend in that program and highly recommends never going there! :o i applied to la county, gcc, rcc, and santa ana. i don't really have a first choice, but i was looking into higher nclex pass rates, and rio hondo's and rcc's were at the top
