Rio Hondo LVN Spring 2018

Hello everyone,

Is there anyone else out there who has applied to the program?

Hello Hellfirecat. I submitted my application today. Good luck to you!

Hi! It's nice to have someone else to wait it out with. I haven't submitted mine yet, I plan to do it this week. Did you have to submit high school transcripts as well or just your college ones?

I submitted official transcripts to the admissions and records department. To the health science department: I turned in my printed application, a copy of my high school diploma (they take transcripts too). Have you met with the schools nursing councilor?

I have not. I just saw their application period was open on their website. Should I?

It ain't necessary. Was just wondering. It felt really nice hearing that I could apply. I've applied to LACCONAH and PCC's RN programs since the year has started but had no luck. I'm stoked about Rio's VN program being random with their selection.

I applied to PCC's VN program but I didn't get in. They require CNA and I didn't have it. I'm taking the CNA course this October. I also applied to the VN program at the El Monte adult school as well. I was extremely happy that Rio is a lottery system I feel like I'd have a better chance that way.

How was the medical terminology course at the adult school? I think that's one of the courses that's required there for their VN program, right? Cool job on starting your CNA this oct :))

Super super easy. They make you take Adv. Med Term. If you've taken Anatomy & physiology you should be fine. And yes it as well as A&P are required. Thank you I'm excited to at least get my foot in the door. What college have you attended?

When I called to see if they received my application (I mailed it) I asked when we would know if we were accepted or not they said they gave the walk-in applicants a flyer saying second week of October. I was wondering if there was anything else on that flyer I should know?

Hello, I applied as well. Good luck everyone!

that flyer is basically some general info and the requirements for vaccination
