Rio Hondo ADN Fall 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

For those of you that applied to the ADN program at Rio Hondo for the Fall of 2014, have you heard back yet?

Yes, I took the TEAS in January and passed. I sent my official on Tuesday after I received the call. Just make sure you respond by Monday, April 21st or you will lose your spot. You just need to call the nursing department and let them know that you accept their program. :)

I thought that's what the original call was for. She asked me if I was going to accept it and I said yes without a doubt. I'll call just to make 100% sure. Wouldn't want to lose my spot.

Hmm interesting! She did not ask me that. The conversation was so quick and she told me all the details would be in the letter. I left a voicemail today for the number provided in the letter, but I will def call again on Monday just to make sure (their office is closed tom for Good Friday).

I'll probably leave a message as well. Better safe than sorry. Is Rio Hondo your first choice?

Well, I live in Tustin and work in Irvine so I was hoping to get in somewhere a little closer. I applied to 10 schools all over Orange County so I figured I would probably get in somewhere within 1 hour away from home. I was denied at Santa Ana and I haven't heard from Saddleback. I am pleased with Rio Hondo though. I have heard that they have a good program and many students really love it! :)

What was your first choice?

Wow, Tustin is really far. I applied to Pasadena, citrus, LA county, and Rio. Originally I had Pasadena as my first choice, but I'm leaning more towards Rio Hondo now. Plus, I haven't heard from any other schools, except CSULA which did not accepted me. Both Rio and Pasadena are like 9 miles from me.

I know it is a little far, but I'm sure I will make it work. I'm just grateful that I got in somewhere! :) Good for you though! Glad you got in to a program close to home.

I just submitted my TEAS results also, I can't wait to start. Are you planning on eventually getting your BSN also?

I know..I can't wait either! I'm just trying to get everythng in order before I start the program. Yes, I am planning on getting my BSN too. Might as well keep going while everything is fresh in your mind! :p

How about you?

Yeah. I definitely plan on getting my BSN. I'm wondering what shots and stuff we're gonna need.

Good for you! :)

I'm guessing we'll get new shots and some boosters since it's been a couple of years! :\

I need to start looking for some comfy shoes too!! I currently work in an office so I'm not used to being on my feet all day. haha! I'm so anxious and excited though! I'm ready for a change and a fast pace job environment. :)

The summer course isn't going to involve us going to clinical sites, yet, right?

Hey guys, I just found this thread! Congrats on your acceptance! I also got accepted into Rio's program for Fall 2014. When's your guys orientation? Also, I heard Rio has a BSN bridge program with Cal State LA :)
