I look like a total idiot. I attended a BLS class last night and after the testing I went into the bathroom before leaving and saw that I had a large red ring around my mouth from the pressure while practicing respirations on "Annie". I think it had been there from the first 1/2 hour of the class. No wonder everyone was staring at me.
It's still there today!!!! Whaaaaaa.

You might want to talk to whoever put the class on and see how those maniquines are cleaned. It could very well be you are sensitive to something they are using or are sensitive to the protective barrier they give you to use for practice. It is worth checking out though because any further contact could cause a worse reaction.
I didn't even think of that. I just figured I was being an idiot and applying way too much pressure. Actually, they used those clorox wipes to clean everything after the class. The marks are going away, but I looked pretty stupid for a while.

For a while I was trying to plump up my lips using a device called "luscious lips" (google it) and ended up with a ring around my mouth that lasted over a week.

I once burst a blood vessel on the back of my hand practicing compressions on "Annie". The entire back of my hand swelled up and turned lovely shades of purple.
