RI CNA Pay Rates

Hey everyone I was wondering what an average rate of pay is for a CNA in RI. I am taking a CNA class from a private company and for those of us who are offered jobs by them the starting pay rate is around $10 (but it depends on experience and other factors) I was just wondering if that is the average for RI or a better rate for a new CNA. So tell me what you think...

Hey Chris! Just wondering where you are taking a cna course. I was on the ccri waiting list 5 yrs ago and have decided to pursue nursing again by doing cna training and going back to school soon. I'm in North Kingstown--did you find a program locally? Thanks!

I'm in a program right now and I really love it. Its in Narragansett near South County Hospital and it doesn't cost anything, however they prefer you work for the South County Hospital Healthcare system (but it isn't mandatory.) Although I don't know if driving down to South County Hospital is too far for you or not.

That's only fifteen minutes from me--and a free program would be awesome. Would you mind sending me the info so I can contact them?

Thanks so much for the info. I had a really nice talk with the person you directed me to and it sounds like it will work out really well. She asked who recommended her and when I said Chris, she said 'I love Chris!' Anyway, I appreciate your help!

That's great that you got to talk to her, she really is great. I think you will really enjoy the class, you end up learning so much more then from a typical CNA program because she believes that CNAs (especially in homecare) need a really broad knowledge base to back up our observational skills and intuition. I hope it works out for you and inspires you to get back into Nursing. Just make sure that since I recommended you that you do a good job lol

Right now they are in the middle of doing another class but in the late spring I think they will have another one and I can send you the information when I find out for sure.

that would be great, I'll be ending my spring semester around that time anyway and be able to jump right into it. Thankyou.

Hi Chris,

I am also looking for CNA training in RI, would you please send me the info for the class you attended in South County? Thank you so much!
