Retook classes and still got into a BSN program?

Published

Does anyone know of any programs that take the highest grade attempt. I had to abruptly drop ornof school and it left me with several f on my transcript. I retook everything and got an a. If the school doesn't average all attempts my overal gpa would be 3.3 and my science gpa would be 3.84. My teas score was an 85. Despite all of that is is stil hard to find a bsn program for me because most schools average all coursework. Does anyone know any programs that only take the last attempt or best attempt. I did the best I could. I do not want to take the accelerated bsn route and get a different degree just to get my bsn afterwards.

I know several asn programs that would take you..

It might be tougher to find a BSN program, but ADN programs tend to be a bit more flexible when it comes to taking highest grade attempts and you could always pursue a RN-BSN program after.

What programs do you recommend

I live in ga, what programs do you recommend? I also was looking at chamberlain

I would not choose chamberlain. I'm sure there are many universities that will accept you. I believe most schools would take your last attempt, but you might not get as many points. I had to re-take an A&P class three times (once was because I failed, the second I passed, and third, I went to a different school and it didn't transfer so I had to retake it again). Despite all that, I still got into the nursing school of my choice. Just keep looking. I'm sure you'll find a great nursing school soon.

chattahoochee tech ADN program takes the highest attempt out of two tries for the pre reqs

The most annoying thing about going into nursing school, for me, is that every single program in the country has different requirements. I live in a large, medically renown, city and have around 15+ programs within driving distance. I made a spreadsheet of every single ADN/BSN program, state rankings, requirements, or necessary info (like cost, time to complete, etc). I then ranked them.

My first go round of university ~15 years ago I was a lazy student. My first choice school (which I was accepted into for the fall) only considers your pre-req GPA (which was a 4.0) for admission ranking, but you must have a minimum 2.75 in all college course work from all schools ever attended and those F's would be included...

I would suggest doing what I did and taking the time to research every single program you'd be willing to drive/go to. It's hard for people here to give you an answer as every school has different requirements.

What program did you attend? I am in the same boat. Took A&P 3 times until I got an A
