Hopefully, in the next 5 years, I can retire from full time work but I hope to work part time or PRN as long as I can. Question for RN's who are "Retired" but still work a little bit, What do you do? If still working as an RN, what kind of nursing are you doing?
1) Stayed on PRN where I was working FT
2) Got a PRN job as RN elsewhere
3) working, but not as RN
4) other.....
Thanks !

I retired and moved. Got a similar job to my last one but am working PRN now. The last job, (and my current one), was an out patient clinic, so there is no call, no weekends, no nights, no holidays.
I used to mark my available days on the schedule so I was kind of obligated to those days if they needed me. But the last year it has worked out that they just call me a day (or more) ahead and ask if I can work such and such day. I always have the option of saying no. I work from 8 - 12 days a month to occasionally no days a month.....it can really vary.
I have always floated to different units so there are times I am called into work and a scheduled benefited staff is called off because they can't (or won't) float to that department. (Take that all you nurses who hate to float!)
