I graduated nursing outside of the United States and have had taken the nclex test once, but unlucky couldn't pass the test. The test had taken outside of US as an international student for Texas BON. Now i have moved into the states and got my ssn# is it ok for me to retake this test by applying online using their online form?

PS: I have already registered and paid at pearsonvue testing center now waiting for ATT

Yes. Here is the directions per their website: Examination Applications

Good luck on your re-take!

Hi Everyone,

I actually posted this exact same reply on another thread, being a newbie, I'm sorry for the mistake, I hope someone can take down my reply on that other thread if you notice it, otherwise, we'll just leave it at that. This the best thread with regards to my concern. I hope some admin or someone out there will be kind enough to see this and give me some clear idea.

I will try to make this as short as I can. I am an International candidate, I failed the first attempt of my NCLEX-RN CAT for Texas BON and am planning to take it again soon. The 45 days waiting period elapsed and I've gotten in touch with the state board by e-mail twice but one detail still confuses me. I will copy and paste the exact words from their e-mail and the detail that is vague to me:

"1. Re-register to take the NCLEX with the testing service NCS Pearson.

(Register with NCS Pearson by contacting them at 1-866-496-2539 or online at NCLEX Examinations: Pearson VUE)

2. Submit a new application by NCLEX Examination to the Texas Board of Nursing, along with the fee of $100.00.

Go to our website - Welcome to the Texas Board of Nursing Website. Click on "Verification and Licensing" and then "Online Examination Application." Follow the instructions for submission of the application (online or by paper).

*International applicants - Verifications expire one year from the date they were signed. Please check application status online to view the expiration date."

I have done step 1 but because of the qualifier in step 2, I am not sure on how to proceed. I have checked and it hasn't been a year, therefore my verification hasn't expired yet. But, will I still need to send in a new application with the fee or will they be able to send in my new ATT?

I will try to call them personally tomorrow, which is Monday if no one will be able to answer this within today and update on this to help others who might be on the same dilemma that I am.

Thanks very much and hope to get some clarification on this soon.

Hi Everyone,

I tried calling up Texas BON but it seems they have managed ways not to have anyone answer you. Instead, pre-recorded information will be played depending on the type of information you access through their phone lines and numbers you press when given options.

However, I got my 2nd ATT by doing these 2 steps on the email that they replied me with:

If you are one like me, just go ahead and pay Pearson Vue and Submit a new application. Most of all, make sure to study well for your next exam. God bless, everyone!

What did you do about the CES?

Specializes in Im a NiCU nurse for 4 years.

I filed an NCLEX application last 2019 in Texas BON, completed my requirements and have the ATT but because of a difficult situation (Pandemic)  I failed to take the exam on the scheduled date. And now Im planning to re-apply, do I need to start all over again? Do I need to.take NJE, submit CES report and fingerprint again?
