Hi, I'm a new grad and received my license in September. It has been a constant struggle to get my foot in the door. Unfortunately I didn't participate in any extracurricular activities, internships, or community service. I know this dramatically decreases my chances of getting in the hospitals but I'm willing to do what it takes to make it happen. so far I have gotten my BLS, ACLS, and stated working as a school nurse to improve my chances. If you have any advise or tips on how I can better my chances pleases feel free to comment. I will also past my resume. Thank you in advance.NAMEAddress email.address (cell) 646-***-****Professional Summary: Flexible team player and excellent communicator seeking an opportunity to provide culturally competent patient care and gain clinical experience.Education:Lehman College, Bronx NY June 2016Bachelors of Science, NursingClinical Experience:Bronx Lebanon, Bronx NY (Medical Surgical) 01/2016 – 05/2016· Integrate principles of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention into the management of acute and chronic illnessMontefiore Medical Center, Bronx NY (Pediatrics and Maternity) 08/2016 -12/2016· Assess pediatric patients in various states of health using principles of growth and development· Assess Women during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periodsEinstein Medical Center, Bronx NY (Medical Surgical 9N) 01/2015-05/2015· Utilize the nursing process for various geriatric patients to administer oral, IV, IM and Sub-Q medications, perform focused assessments, as well as provide urinary catheter care and wound dressing changesSt. Barnabus Hospital, Bronx NY (Psychiatric Unit) 01/2015 – 05/2015· Interact and communicate therapeutically with patients suffering from a Varity of mental illnesses.· Collaborate with physicians and registered nurses to provide patient centered care.Work Experience:The Shield Institute, 800 Andrews Avenue Bronx, NY 10/2016 – present day School Nurse serve as sole nurse for 183 students Pre K center for a wide variety of diverse needs· Serve as Primary Nurse for 183 students from the ages 2-5 years old with various health issues such as Asthma, Autism, Developmental Delay, and Down Syndrome· Conduct daily Health Screenings of every student in the school while maintaining open office hours in order to diagnose and treat minor injuries and illnesses· Collaborate with Physicians and other referral resources to help parents and students· Administer medications and assist with management of patient centered health care needs· Organize and maintain files on all student activity such as immunizations, office visits, health Paraprofessional 06/2013- 09/2016New York City Department of Education, New York· Collaborate with students, teachers, parents and principals to efficiently provide support in planning, implementing and evaluating individualized goals for students.
