'Results on Hold' - Pearson Vue says there's a problem

Nursing Students NCLEX

Updated:   Published

I took my NCLEX on Friday 6/16 at 8 AM. It shut off at 75 questions and I finished in around 35 minutes. My friends had quick results post over the weekend, but my PVT said 'results on hold' and the Quick Results say that they're not available. When I called Pearson Vue today (Monday 6/19), they said "there's a little problem with your results" and to call them back if they don't post by Wednesday.

I used no white boards, took no breaks, raised my hand when I was finished, and there were no obvious issues with the palm scanner. The only thing I can think of is that they didn't have a sealed bag big enough for my laptop (which I had to bring as I was going straight to work afterwards). But I didn't access my locker at all and I disclosed that I had the laptop, so I wouldn't think it would be an issue? It could also be because I went pretty slowly through the tutorial to make sure that I knew how to change answers, but then finished the test quickly?

I'm completely freaking out. This is so much more stressful than taking the NCLEX!

It is probably the speed that you finished the test. I took 1 hr to finish 75 questions without an issue. They will have to review your test and video to make sure you took the test honestly.

What Guy said. Taking a test that quickly is like waving a red flag and asking them to scrutinize the video of your testing to look for possible cheating.

If you didn't cheat that should be verifiable based on the video and they'll release your results.

I definitely did not cheat - I'm just a fast test-taker! I did the 150 question ATI predictor in an hour, so 75 questions in 35 minutes makes sense.

Do you know how long it typically takes them to review the video? They haven't told me anything except to call back if it's not up on Wednesday (which I think is 72 business hours if business hours means hours during business days?).

Ah! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I, too, took the nclex on Friday 06/16/17 and did the pvt. Up until this very day 06/19/17, it still says results on hold. The only problem I can think of is my palm vein scan that didn't take my right hand scan very well, but took my left hand instead. That happened a few times too. I pray that we, both, get our result soon and that we, both, passed!!!

I passed! Found out at 7 PM today (Monday)

congrats! Speed was not your enemy, just the testing center :)

I have to say I'm pretty impressed at successfully testing in 35 minutes with 75 questions. Brava!

Yes. Definitely a show off. "You finished 75 questions in an hour. I finished 75 questions in 35 minutes. Even Pearson Vue couldn't believe I could do it."

Avg. 28 sec per question.

Ok so I took my NCLEX rn yesterday and didn't finish until 8 pm :( I got all the questions!! Last night it said test results on hold. Today it says test results not available. What does this mean??? Does anyone know if this is a good thing or bad thing?

Read your other thread.

I am writing this in hopes to share my experience and maybe give some of you waiting some hope. I just took my NCLEX on Thursday! It’s saturday now 531 am! I got all 265 questions and it took me 3.5 hours! I was so scared when that computer just kept going instead of shutting off that by the question 160 I began to cry! I came out convinced I failed! The next two days were torture! First thing that happened was I got an email from Pearson saying “now that you finished NCLEX “.. I read somewhere that’s a good sign but I’m not sure. Then I tried the trick! Initially my results were on hold, then 2 hours after I got the message “you can only register for one exam at the time” . This pop up didn’t even let me proceed to credit card part. I was beginning to be hopeful there but couldn’t find anyone with similar experience anywhere.

Then few hours after that it changed to being on hold again! Friday was the worst day! It was on hold most of the day and I just kept reading post after posts! I couldn’t concentrate, eat or anything! Finally one of my friends who took it with me tried to register again and got the good pop up! She encouraged me to do as well! I was shaking but at 6 pm on Friday I did it and got the same pop up! My heart was pounding and my hands were shaking! My hopes began to rise.

At 4 am in the morning I got an email from my nursing regulatory body that I passed my NCLEX and I can register as an RN! I don’t think I was ever more happier to spend money.

It was the worst and longest 48 hours of my life! I tot tally felt like I failed and already began to research preparation courses and materials.

i used the uworld and it was great but I don’t think you are ever completely ready for those questions! But don’t loose hope! You can pass with 265!

good luck
