Hi guys,
Okay I need some assistance on this. When it comes to restraints... I come to many questions where answers tend to be different as far as time frame goes. Some restraint questions you need to check and assess every 30 mins. I have got some question where answer is 1 hour assessment. The majority of questions I get tend to be 2 hours release restraints for range of motion.
I've noticed that at times it gets tricky. So is there a much easy way to figure it out these time options. How do you distinguish if its going to be 30mins?, 1 hour or 2 hours?? Thanks y'all!

First if you are taking a message board as an answer you would trust in your practice you are setting yourself up for trouble. Any hospital you work for well have an SOP regarding restraints. There are many differences with retraints...children have different protocols than adults. If it is on a psych unit they have their own specific SOP. You DISTINGUISH by written hospital SOP. Good luck.

You are to assess the pt on restraints every 30 minutes; the assessment includes skin integrity and how the pt is tolerating it. You are to release the restraints every 2 hours for bathroom breaks, hydration, and nutrition.
Windsurfer8, the OP is asking about answering nclex questions regarding restraints.
