(mrsa) methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus
i've been giving this some thought. 12-pages means this is pretty much a term paper, so organization and content will be pretty important. the way a student in the health sciences would organize a paper like this would be to first explain how normal body defenses work to protect our bodies. then, they would introduce specifically what mrsa is and the ways it can invade a human body, the damage it can do, how it is detected, how it is treated and what the future holds for treatment of this microbe because there are problems with its treatment.
let us know how you are progressing with this paper and if you need any more assistance.
some very good websites on the internet to explore are:
[*]medline plus (use the search box and input "mrsa") to get more links to good information http://www.medlineplus.gov/
[*]healthfinder http://www.healthfinder.gov/ - for statistics
[*]http://www.fpnotebook.com/id/emerging/mthclnrstntstphylcsars.htm - outline of who gets mrsa, how it is managed (treated) by the doctor and prevention
[*]http://www.medicinenet.com/mrsa_infection/article.htm - includes a nice slide show with photos and talks about community acquired mrsa (like in gym locker rooms)
[*]http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec14/ch171/ch171c.html - staphylococcal infections

The Doctors are discussing MRSA on their TV show today. If you miss it they will have the pertinent information on their website at http://thedoctorstv.com
